Depression can feel like a downward spiral, pulling the person into a vortex of sadness, fatigue, and apathy. In this course, the neuroscientist Dr Alex Korb demystifies the intricate brain processes that cause depression, and offers a practical and effective approach to getting better. He translates the newest neuroscience research into the language that can be easily understood by anybody.  Based on the latest research in neuroscience, this online course provides dozens of straightforward tips you can recommend to your clients to do every day in order to rewire the brain and create an upward spiral towards a happier, healthier life.  There isn’t one big solution to depression, but there are numerous simple steps clients can take to alter brain activity and chemistry. Some are as easy as relaxing certain muscles to reduce anxiety, or getting more sunlight to improve the mood. Small steps in the right direction can have profound effects—giving clients the power to become their best selves as they literally reshape their brains, one small change at a time. This course offers an engaging and informative look at the neuroscience behind the emotions, thoughts, and actions that are linked to depression.

You will find that Dr Korb has provided you with an engaging, accessible, and informative synthesis of the current thinking on depression and its treatment. A cohesive neuroscience perspective is skillfully interwoven with a practical guide to strategies that can both attenuate pathological negative moods, as well as enhance emotional well-being across the clinical spectrum.  If you are a mental health practitioner who wants to learn more about the neuroscience of depression and its treatment, you will find this course super valuable.  More importantly, by introducing this knowledge to your clients, you will accomplish a difficult task of engaging your depressed client into creating the upward spiral out of depression.
