  • The Highly Anxious Client that has difficulty responding to treatment
  • The Angry-Volatile Client
  • The Client with Drug Misuse Issues
  • The Client with Personality Disorder

This seminar will teach you a comprehensive multi-modal approach and provide you with multiple cognitive and behavioural strategies that you can integrate into your practice. Learn in-depth schema focused interventions that are useful for addressing more difficult clinical problems.

You will learn about:

  • multiple cognitive and behavioural strategies that you can integrate into your practice in order to immediately improve client outcomes
  • In-depth schema focused interventions that are useful for addressing more persistent clinical and behavioural problems such as self-sabotaging and/or risk taking behaviours, chronic depression and anxiety, suicidality, substance misuse.
  • cognitive conceptualizations for multiple difficult to address symptom sets.
  • the role of maladaptive schemas in information processing and communication breakdowns.
  • modifying schemas that drive persistently chronic or problematic behaviours.
  • strategies for regulating emotions
  • challenging behaviours that are used as a communication strategy.
  • APS: Activities do not need to be endorsed by APS. Members can accrue 7 CPD hours by participating in this activity
