Dr. Deacon is a clinical psychologist and associate professor of psychology at the University of Wyoming where he teaches courses in abnormal psychology and psychotherapy, supervises doctoral student therapists, and maintains a private practice. Dr. Deacon has received awards for his research and teaching. He has published more than 50 scientific articles, book chapters, and books on topics including the nature and treatment of anxiety disorders, psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, and the classification of mental disorders. He is co-author of Exposure Therapy for Anxiety: Principles and Practice, published by Guilford Press in 2010. Dr. Deacon is a frequent national and international presenter on topics including exposure therapy for anxiety and issues in evidence-based practice.
